Links
While not necessarily websites that I personally visit on a regular basis, I've taken the liberty of gathering together a few links that many who stumble upon my site may find useful or informative. Enjoy!
The GHZ
"The Green Hill Zone" for those of you who don't dig abbreviations. Without exaggeration, the Sonic Team fansite to end all Sonic Team fansites. Run by the notorious Green Gibbon!. I work on this site too, but have been pretty much relegated to "whipping boy" these days.
Sam and Fuzzy
Phenomenal webcomic by my favoured associate and apparent child prodigy Sam "Esrever" Logan. For the longest time I had given up on webcomics, but this one managed to win me over almost effortlessly. It's truly outstanding.
Channel Canada
Up-to-date information on what's happening on Canadian TV. Includes schedules, highlights, TV listings, and the occassional article about the industry.
Anime Source
Home to fanart, reviews, and other not-so-legitimate resources that will go unmentioned, you'll probably find something of interest at Anime-Source.
Gundam Official
It's rare for official websites to contain more in-depth information than fansites, but as much as I've scoured the net, I have yet to find a better resource for information on Gundam SEED and all other Gundam series that have been released by Bandai than their official Gundam webpage. There you'll find information on characters, mecha, episode synopses, and even detailed timelines of every Gundam universe filled with info that just isn't available anywhere else.
The Inuyasha Companion
Looking for comprehensive info on the Inuyasha anime, manga, games, characters, episodes, and all that crap? Yeah, I thought so. The Inuyasha Companion is the most comprehensive guide to Inuyasha out there, but is only a small part of Rumic World, a huge-ass information source on everything by the brilliant Rumiko Takahashi. If you guys think that Inuyasha is the best thing to ever spring from her mind, you really need to check out Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku.
Or, if you don't want to explore the site, I can just give you the biggest spoiler right here: Naraku doesn't die.
Lelola.net
Run by Pan-Chan, probably the best anime site I've seen written from a Canadian perspective. It doesn't cover all of the news, but pretty much anything that's important will get reported. Despite the site's focus on the "kiddy shows", it puts a very refreshing Canadian spin on things. It's decidedly anti-hentai, but apparently that's the number one Google search word leading to her site.
The Toonami Digital Arsenal
My all-time favourite media website. Check out TDA to see the huge assortment of phenominal ads and gimmicks Toonami uses (or used) to reel in young, unsuspecting viewers, as well as more original Japanese openings than you're likely to find anywhere else. Just watch the Rurouni Kenshin and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also, marvel at Tyler's unique sense of humour.
ASF
From the people who brought you TDA, it's ASF, a site devoted to Adult Swim media. The FLCL promo is one of the greatest I have ever seen.
Nausicaa.net
A little tricky to navigate, but an overall definitive resource for info on the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
Toon Zone
News, reviews, and info. It's all about the cartoons baby. Be sure to check out the forum.
The World's Finest
If you can't get enough of the marvellous DC Animated Universe crafted by that fanboy warlord Bruce Timm (and what animation fan wouldn't?)... well, too bad because JLU is pretty much the end of it. However, you should still check out The World's Finest to see comprehensive guides behind each series, reviews, image galleries, and all sorts of neat downloads.
Hi Sci-Fi
Catch the latest news and information relevent to all of nerdom on Jevon Ryan and Irma Arkus's handy blog. Be sure to check out the podcasts for their weekly radio show!
I WANT TO EAT A NUT OF LAERMA!
If you're in the mood for some hard-core bloggin', come here to witness the big, long, intimidating rants of our resident righty Steven Brandon on anime, politics, and obscure celebrities. He linked to me, so I guess I should link to him, too.
Oh yeah, and the title is a reference to a strange line in Phantasy Star I. I can't believe I didn't catch on to that at first.
