Attention all regular readers!
I am currently conducting the first of two extremely important surveys, in which I urge all regular readers of this website to participate. It will only take a few minutes of your time, and all of your opinions are going to be truly valuable, so I want to hear from all of you.
The survey can be accessed here. Thanks a lot!
The second survey will be coming up in about a week, and it's even more important. Please keep your eyes peeled for it!

Just a format note: on the "which show do you follow," you can choose "None of the Above" as one of multiple choices. IE: I could choose "Being Erica" AND "None of the Above."
I chose Being Erica. :D

I took the survey - I'll come right out and say it, I really don't care if the CBC lives or dies. It's not that I hate it beyond all logical reason, I just can't bring myself to care.

I completed the survey a few days ago.
Though to be honest, out of their batch of shows, I've only seen the odd episode of Little Mosque here and there. Otherwise, I only watch CBC for Hockey Night in Canada and occasionally The National.
The CBC is really good at
The CBC is really good at sports coverage and some comedy but little else. Occasionally they come up with a decent show but then milk it to death with endless repeats and re-showings.
And their news coverage is the worst. It's not news, it's liberal propaganda. They're so use to catering to the Liberal governments for funding that they're practically part of the party.
I guess these days I watch
I guess these days I watch Little Mosque, Just for Laughs, Mercer and 22 Minutes. Those aren't really the types of shows any of the other broadcasters are showing these days, so yeah, I feel CBC is definitely an essential part of the mix. And I certainly hear good things about Being Erica ....

I'd add "The hour" to that list though I really wish they would get rid of the studio audience.

I used to watch The X/The Void/The Outlet before it became total repeats of failed shows with Youtube-esque videos, and shorts deemed "New Shows" in between. Other then that since jPod got the can, just Hockey Night regularily. Sometimes Being Erica, and The Hour but not usually.
I don't even follow Sports
I don't even follow Sports on CBC since they're ridiculously anti-Montreal for some reason; the only time they show the Montreal Canadiens is if the Maple Leafs game is against them, and I sometimes wonder if CBC knows the Impact exist. Sure it's soccer, but they'll show a random American training match before showing the Montreal Impact.
As for non-sports, I watch Being Erica all the time, stand-up comedians (Just For Laughs, Ha!ifax, etc,) very often, and the occasional The Hour and Dragon Booster. Used to watch Little Mosque when it was new, but I lost interest in it after the first season when into repeats/hiatus.
I don't watch it, but does
I don't watch it, but does the French CBC carry hockey? If so I would think they would be the ones to carry the Canadiens games. I'm not sure where the CBC is based, but I would guess Toronto.
There is no French CBC. But
There is no French CBC. But being located in Toronto shouldn't have anything to do with their principals, since they're supposed to represent Canada as a whole. Anybody else ever notice how its programming tends to imply that Canada is nothing but a dozen or so small prarie towns on all on the outskirts of Toronto? No wonder everybody makes fun of Canadian television. :P

Pretty certain RDS (French TSN) has like a strangehold on Montreal Canadiens games. And there is a French CBC, Radio-Canada, it used to air Canadiens games, but stopped maybe two years ago when they became RDS central.
CBLFT (channel 25) use to be
CBLFT (channel 25) use to be known as the "French CBC" (CBC-F) in the Toronto area although they're probably going by SRC now. Back when there were only about 10 channels on TV, a lot of English viewers would actually bother to watch it.
Ah, that's what I meant: a
Ah, that's what I meant: a "CBC-F", not a French equivalent of CBC properties/affiliates.
On side-note, what the hell is CBLFT and why have I, someone with cable in Montreal, never heard of it when Torontonians have? Would we not be over 95% of their audience? O_o

I noticed an error in the question about the "effectiveness of funding." The BBC question was asking for a 1-10 rating in the question, not 1-5 as the answer allows for.
I would also question the use of the term "effective" since there's no doubt the BBC's system is effective as far as raising enough money for the BBC. But that doesn't mean people like it.
