Viz no longer allowing Canadians to access Shipputen
Came across this when checking Naruto.com:
We're sorry to say that due to contractual reasons we can no longer offer streaming video of Naruto Shippuden to Canadian viewers through this website. We hope you'll continue to visit this site often for the latest Naruto news and special features. You can also download Naruto episodes through iTunes, and purchase DVDs through our store.
Thank you for your continued support of Naruto!
"Contractual reasons." Could this mean that YTV has picked up Shippuden?

Could this mean that YTV has picked up Shippuden?
or perhaps another station like teletoon (highly doubtful but you never know) or even family channel (since they air disney stuff and disney xd in the us is airing it).
Still, it is interesting that it's being blocked now and that there isn't any big announcement about it being picked up on any of the usual spots.

I only say that given the lack of anime in general outside of the one or two shows they have aired(and currently) recently.
However, I do agree with you that teletoon is the better place for Naruto (and other anime) right now than YTV given YTV's general shift in it's programming.

Is the CrunchyRoll stream also being blocked?

Crunchyroll is still unblocked, although there's no new episode this week.

Guys, why are you being so optimistic? The reason that Canadian access was severed was because Viz had all of their titles pulled from Joost.com. Looks like they're Hulu.com exclusive now.
