AnimeNorth 2010
I was browsing around and noticed that AnimeNorth will be in Toronto at the end of May (28th-30th). http://www.animenorth.com/main/
It's still a number of months away, but it's something to keep in mind, especially for those needing to book accommodations and I know those can fill up early.

I'll definitely be going this year, I'm working on leading a panel for Moon Chase about Sailor Moon :)

I might be going this year. Nothing really confirmed on my part though.

I've been added to the general Sailor Moon panel. Looks like it will be happening Friday night, at 10pm. I'll share a couple survey results over the course of the discussion. Still working on gathering general notes for audeience questions. Should be interesting! :)

There's two FUNimation panels happening this Anime North at the Double Tree. One happens Saturday at 3PM, the other happens Sunday at 1PM. I might be able to make the Sunday panel (which is a Q&A) and see if I can ask them about what's up with Ocean and Kai, and any Canadian broadcast news.

There's only so much they can say about licensing publicly, but I'm sure they'll mention what they can't talk about at the beginning of the panel. They did at Sakura Con. It was kind of funny how a lot of people couldn't ask their questions because they mostly wanted to know what was happening with different series.
I'm glad to see that there are some industry panels, I'm definitely going to go to those. Still have to figure out how to balance press conferences and regular events. I'm going to be so busy!
Sailor Moon panel went well though! Yay! :)

Question to those who have gone - What is Anime North like this year? Lots of people or just so-so?

Lots of people. They estimated 16000 attendees, 18500 total for warm bodies (including guests, staff, dealers, etc.)
It was hot too, which I think encouraged more people to come. So glad that TTC increased service for the #58 bus. Otherwise it would have been a long wait before I could get back home today.
I have lots and lots of notes to go through later, my con coverage will likely end up being more in-depth for Anime North than it was for Sakura Con. There was just so much going on and I was able to attend more press conferences plus a Q&A. Had to take notes for those :)
I also made it to both the opening and closing ceremonies. And it was nice to give out my Moon Chase business card to various people, including some voice actors and cosplayers.
I'm relieved it's over though. I'm so tired!

It was a blast for me.
The Masquerade at AN is now considered to be an event that will have some real merit in the cosplay world, which was interesting to hear. I also felt like the costumes that were seen really kicked it up a notch this year.
I went to the Anime Roundtable podcast recordings, which were the first in about 11 months. Since I enjoy the podcast, it felt really nice to hear a new episode after so long, especially live. But with no drive home and buses (back to Mississauga -_-) to catch, I had to leave before they were done. (They went from 11:30-ish to 2 AM both nights).
I also bought a ton of anime & manga as well. I was able to find a near complete set of Maison Ikkoku, including the rare Vol. 8 box. I picked up Boxes 6-8, as well as 4 today. I also picked up RahXephon (thinpak) and the Emma manga, which was an emergency purchase due to CMX's imminent closure.
I had a lot of friends at the con, so I had a nice time hanging out with all of them.
