Superchannel to add Monster on Monday March 15th, 10:00PM

Just passing this along. This is direct from a Superchannel email I got just an hour ago:

Quote:

In the past you have expressed interest in anime programming on SuperChannel. We're excited to announce 'Monster' to our lineup starting Monday March 15 at 10pm ET on HD2/SC2.
Monster
What would you do if one of the young lives you saved turned out to be amonster? Dr. Kenzo Tenma is acknowledged as a brilliant Japanese brainsurgeon on the staff of Dusseldorf’s Eisler Memorial Hospital and isengaged to the hospital director’s daughter Eva. However, two surgeriesperformed on one fateful day change his life forever. First, a young child(a twin) near death from a severe head injury is rushed to the hospital.Soon after, the city mayor arrives, also gravely ill. When the hospitaldirector orders him to ignore the child and treat the mayor, Tenma refuses, insisting on treating the patient who arrived first. The childsurvives; the mayor does not, and because he has ignored orders, Tenmafinds himself snubbed by the hospital executives, including the hospitaldirector. But then these same top-ranking executives are all found deadunder mysterious circumstances. Detective Lunge of the BKA, Germany’s Bundeskriminalamt (Federal Criminal Police Office) suspects that Tenma isbehind the crimes, but has no evidence to support his theory.

The email is correct in stating that I've 'expressed interest in anime programming' on the pay TV service. Last year I was wondering if Superchannel was going to air Gundam 00(presuming that they were the one of elements responsuble for the block of the legal streams for it, this was before I fully blamed YTV). Around early May of last year, they said to me via email that they were in the pre-planning stages of airing new anime in August-September of 2009. Nothing came of those plans, as nothing aired in August or September 2009 (that was 'new', that is). were I stopped asking them about their anime situation after that. I didn't let anyone know here about my emails to SC's capable VR department because of the tentativeness of the whole situation. That, and they didn't specify what series they were planing to air(I'd asked once every month until July of last year when the August 2009 grid appeared on their site).

With that in mind the new anime schedule for anyone who has Superchannel on March 15th:
10:00PM: Monster(encores on 1:00AM same night, 2:30AM on Saturday night)
10:30PM: Descendents of Darkness repeat
Monster is still running on SyFy/Skiffie. It's also a ViZ show, if I'm not mistaken. It's replacing Gurren Lagann, which ends for the final time on Superchannel the week prior to the premiere. If they air all of the episodes ViZ has licenced, it's probably going to take them two years at the very least for them to finish it.

I can verify this(I'm in Tampa, Florida currently) for Missisauga for Rogers channel lineups. It's the same as Ottawa, more or less:
Channel 334 - Super Channel 1
Channel 335 - Super Channel 2(the one airing Monster)
Channel 336 - Super Channel 3
Channel 337 - Super Channel 4
Channel 338 - SC On Demand(they might have Monster on-demand as the epiodes air; they did this for Gurren Lagann along with the other two anime series and the various anime movies as well)
Channel 339 - Super Channel HD1
Channel 340 - Super Channel HD2(SC's online listings state Monster will be airing in HD as well)
It'll start airing weekly on March 15th 2010 at 10:00PM on both Channel 335(regular definition) and Channel 340(HD).

Thanks. I'm actually not sure if I own the channel, but we'll see.

Are you Allarco Entertainment? If so, yes, you own it. ;)

Seeing as the channel is in creditor protection, it's for the courts to decide who gets to own it.

Anyone getting Superchannel should know it since it's a separate subscription from the other packages. If you don't know if you subscribe to it then chances are you don't.

I don't know a single person who has this group of channels.

I know people who get SuperChannel, but generally because it's part of a promo package, not necessarily long-term.
