Nippon Ichi Brings us MOE~!
http://www.nisamerica.com/news/20060908.html
Considering the recent implications that moe = loli, I'm surprised, yet pleased that moe is being marketed in North America. If you're not up on forum talk, moe is probably a foreign concept. That's also probably the best definition of moe I've seen anywhere yet.
Personally, I'm just sort of hoping that more people discover what moe means so I'm not talking nonsense at anime events. I might be buying this game, because the game doesn't look half bad. The "create your own heroine" thing is cool too.
Here's a pic of the back cover: http://www.ncsx.com/2006/013006/Friday/ar_tonelico_backw.jpg
So what are your thoughts on this (or moe in general)?

Oh good, let's make sure that Moe doesn't mistakenly represent as what some people think or said as "Underage exploitation" or some other bullshit. I read it somewhere on the ANN site a little while ago on that side of the arguement...but that's old news. I'll talk more of it, when I have more spare time.

Honestly, whenever I see the word "moe" anymore I just immediately think of Renge (and others) from Ouran High School Host Club screaming out MOOEE at the top of her lungs.
Ouran has corrupted the word forever! :P
Screw moe. We need more manly things. Like Akagi.

Now that's manly.

Just a slightly offtopic here, but Pep...what's with the "Canned in Banada" pic for?
Was is something to do with MOE itself or what?...I'm just curious, that's all. :?

Isnt that Strawberry Marshmallow? :S Yea Im wondering what that is for too :S I hope it isnt banned in Canada >.>
It's just a dig at lolicon in general. And, no, Strawberry Marshmallow is not banned in Canada, he probably just got the idea from the joke he made at AE 2006.
Personally, I think a more effective picture would be of the "little sister vanilla ice cream eating contests" found in Sumomomomomomo
Its a 4chan meme... pretty much... it stems from this article

(where hentai is written as Hentae) AND it also has roots in the fact that a convicted repeat sexual offender was arrested and his collection of loli hentai was used against him in court... and he was sent to prison i believe...
this brought up the common joke that Loli and subsequently Moe style stuff is illegal in canada (that and loli is acctually illegal, artistic renditions of persons younger than 18 in sexually compromising positions is considered illegal.... )
And the Joke started out with being Banned in Canada... and it eventually led to Canned in Banada... and other variations
And now combining the two most popular canada memes....
you get this
Banned in KAAAAAANEEEEEEEEEDAAAAAAAAAAA

My favorite Canadian reference of all time though is this....

And yeah i fully know that during the summer i had way to much free time... and that having a goal of finding every single Canadian reference or image in any anime... (this includes things like canadian flags or even just a map that acctually somewhat draws canada correctly... Lame i know... but its something that i like doing ))

I wonder how Blue Water didn't get their offices raided by the police when they were dubbing Strawberry Marshmallow in Calgary!

In that case Ghost in the Shell episode 3 (if I'm not mistaken) may pique your interest. Granted, it doesn't portray Canadians (or that one in particular) in the best light, but it's a reference nonetheless.

Gundam refrences to Canada abound.
Quebec is destroyed in Gundam Seed Destiny. I wonder if this is related somehow to the fact that Rau Le Creuset is French-Canadian? (Which also means that Al & Mu La Flaga are also Canadian.)
Haruhiko Mikimoto's Gundam: Ecole Du Ciel manga takes place in Montreal.
And of course...

The Lumber Gundam!

Also, Amuro is from Vancouver.

In Boys Over Flowers and Kaleido Star the characters actully GO to Vancouver. There's also a Canada reference in Love Hina when Naru's little sister talks about going there. Also I believe Quebec City gets destroyed in Macross.

In an Episode of Case Closed you can clearly see Canadian Money.

In Death Note (volume 8 and, presumably the anime when they get that far) a missle lands in Hudson's Bay. Albeit, though, considering the ammount of american references in that volume, one Canadian one hardly seems relevent.

God I hope you intentionally made that mistake.
It's Akage no Anne, not Hokage. Hokage is the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village. Akage is red hair.
In Kaleido Star they go to Vancouver (I believe) to participate in a competition, where they face off against evil street performing Canadians hired by an (assumedly) Russian man.
